Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our site, click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order
We accept credit card payment. If you are shopping from North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to US Dollars or your own currency.
Overseas customers: If you are out of the EEC region, we are able to supply your order VAT free. We will automatically deduct the vat from your order and adjust your payment amount accordingly. Customers residing within the EEC region must pay the full retail value including VAT at the current rate.
We accept most credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard and Switch. Sorry, we do not accept American Express or Diners Card. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Back-ordered items are not charged until they are shipped.
You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet using our secure server.
When paying by credit card over the internet, help us to prevent fraud by:
- The first address you give must be the address at which your credit card is registered. Goods may still be delivered to a different delivery address.
- Your telephone number must be a land line. We cannot complete the transaction if your only phone number is a mobile.
Shipping and Handling
Your order will normally be delivered by Royal Mail Tracked postal service which is chargeable (see Free Carriage below) depending on the weight of the parcel. This is worked out automatically and will be indicated during the purchasing process. Delivery time is normally 2-4 working days. You can choose to have your order delivered Next Working Day by Courier for a small additional charge for UK Mainland addresses only; orders must be placed by 12 noon and please note a signature will be required on delivery.
Free Carriage: Is offered on orders for delivery within the UK including Highlands, Islands and N Ireland for packages under 5kg in weight and with an order value over £75.00. For packages over 5kg in weight, free delivery is offered for the UK mainland only, with the following exceptions: Postcodes AB31 to AB38, AB40 to AB56, IV1 to IV28, IV30 to IV32, IV36 and IV40, IV52 to IV54, IV63. KW1 to KW14, PA21 to PA38, PH4 to PH41, PH49 and PH50. Carriage charged to these postcodes will be £19.99.
For the Scottish Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, we can usually arrange courier delivery for £22.99, but in exceptional circumstances, we reserve the right to quote a carriage charge on receipt of order. The Channel Islands are now regarded as being an international destination by most couriers. Please note, we will not process any order until the carriage charge has been agreed with the customer.
We do not make any handling charges for goods purchased over the internet.
International orders will be shipped using the Royal Mail International airmail either Airsure or International Signed For services (up to 2kg). For orders weighing more than 2kg we use Parcelforce Worldwide. Prices are calculated by weight, and depend on country / region, and will be displayed during the checkout process.
UK orders will normally be despatched within 24 hours of receipt of the order provided goods are in stock. We make every effort to keep stock of all goods advertised on this website, however owing to the nature of our business, we cannot guarantee to have stock of all items at all times.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
RETURNS: Non faulty goods
If you are not entirely happy with your purchase for any reason, please return it to us in an unused condition complete with packaging etc within 14 days and we will refund the full purchase cost excluding postage and return postage.
RETURNS: Faulty goods
Faulty goods should be returned to us in a clean condition (For health & safety reasons we are unable to handle boots, tents, clothing etc which are dirty or soaking wet etc.) we will evaluate the fault, and replace, repair or refund including carriage at our discretion. Please note that some products must be sent to the manufacturers for evaluation. We will make every effort to ensure that product complaints are dealt with efficiently, but cannot be held responsible for delays caused in transit etc.
All prices on this website include VAT at the current rate of 20.0%. Books and maps, some food, and children's boots and clothing are VAT free.
Credit Card Security
We use SagePay and PayPal for processing customer payments. Both these methods are completely secure. We have no access to customer's card details, and no card information is retained by Cave & Crag Ltd either on-line or for administration purposes.
