Pennine Way South Map and Guide

Details

The southern section from Edale to Horton-in-Ribblesdale of this popular long distance walk all on one map.

The Pennine Way National Trail was originally the inspiration of walker and writer Tom Stephenson in an article published in 1935 in the Daily Herald titled 'Wanted: A Long Green Trail', the Pennine Way was designated by the Countryside Agency in 1965 as Britain's first National Trail and is today one of the most famous and popular walks in the country.

The 268 mile (429km) route chases the Pennine Hills along the backbone of England from Edale in Derbyshire through three National Parks, over Hadrians Wall and on into the Scottish Borders using old miners tracks, packhorse routes and drove roads. This map is one of a set of three that allow the route to be broken down into three week long sections, which can easily be accessed by public transport.
