Scarpa has come so far from its beginnings back in 1938 which saw production average four or five pairs of
shoes a day, made entirely by hand. Over the years that figure grew to 12 to 15 pairs of
shoes each day.
Scarpa started out as a family business with a very young apprentice shoemaker, Luigi Parisotto, who rented a tiny corner of an old stable and turned it into a workshop. Workdays averaged 13 to 14 hours with
shoes designed to meet the needs of farmers.
Half a century later and
Scarpa have upheld valued traditions whilst striving to innovate and develop making comfortable
footwear for outdoor enthusiasts.
