The Pennine Way is the 268 mile (431 km) National Trail stretching along the backbone of Britain.

This volume features the southern section of the Way, following the Countryside Agency's acorn waymarks. From Edale the route passes through the Peak District then across the South Pennine moors and the Yorkshire Dales to Bowes, a distance of 127 miles (203 km).

This is the complete official guide for the long-distance walker or the weekend stroller. All you need is this one book. It contains:---

* The Southen part of the route split into convenient sections.
* 1:25,000 O.S Maps for each section marked with points of special interest.
* Circular routes off the trail for shorter walks, enabling the walker to explore the local area.
* Route information on each section.
* A great deal of extra and background information on the area covered.
