The Cairgorm range must be one of the single largest areas of summer & winter climbing in the UK, and contains a huge variety of routes at all levels of difficulty. There are now so many climbs, that the guidebook has been split into two volumes. The area described in volume 1 is probably best approached from Strathspey.
Routes which have been climbed in summer and winter are given descriptions for both seasons.
Areas covered:--- The Northern Corries of Cairn Gorm, The Loch Avon Basin,The Ben Macdui Massif, Braeriach and Cairn Toul,, The South West Cairrngorms.
