This is an innovative protective cover for ice axe heads. Designed and patented by Grivel
The ring in the centre loops over the shaft. It maintains the two protections when they are inserted on the spike and adze.
The front and rear protection can be fixed one over the other when not in use.
It can be used with a hammer ice axe, and even works on tools with only anterior parts mounted.
