Stanage has everything; slabs, walls, cracks, chimneys, gullies, overhangs and buttresses - from the easiest to the nearly impossible. Any climber who could claim to have done everything on Stanage would be accomplished indeed.
This is the first time in the many guidebooks which have covered the rock climbs on Stanage that the Edge has has a guide to itself.
This is an obvious consequence of the increasing number of climbs on this 5 kilometre-long gritstone rampart and may portend the eventual working out of its store of, as yet undiscovered secrets.
