Basically, this is the Scarpa Ranger, but fitted with a full Gore-tex lining to give an extra waterproof barrier without affecting breathability.

The upper is made from a full grain leather, with a nubuck leather soft but supportive cuff. The Vibram sole unit is the same top quality unit that is fitted to the standard Ranger.

A good quality walking / rambling boot with a Gore-tex lining.

To keep your Scarpa Rangers in good condition, we recommend the use of Nikwax Aqueous proofing.

  'WELL BUILT AND COMFORTABLE BOOT'
Strengths: comfortable from the box, good lacing arrangement, tough and not too heavy. Easy to live with and look after.
Weaknesses: goretex lining can lead to sweaty feet, but that applies to most GTX lined boots and there is a non-goretex version available
Overall: I've done plenty of miles over varied terrain in these and can't fault them for comfort, reliability and toughness. You can pick them up quite cheap at the moment and the £80 I paid makes them a real bargain. I probably should have gone for the non-GTX version though.
