The Tikka Plus has 4 x LED's, and gives 4 light intensity settings including a flashing mode. This lamp will burn for 150 hours on its lowest light intensity setting, and 100 hours on its highest setting, It can be tilted to vary the angle of lighting, and runs off 3 x AAA cells (Included)

  'BEST PETZL ALL-ROUNDER'
Strengths: Light (only 78g) Versatile Comfortable Easy to operate Adjustable beam
Weaknesses: A bit tricky to replace the batteries
Overall: I've owned a few Petzls over the years, mainly the more powerful ones like the Myo. Lately, I've come to realise that these are over-engineered for what I need. I don't need a beam that can illuminate a Lancaster bomber at 10,000 feet; just something that lets me see in the dark. The Tikka Plus is the best all-rounder. It's light (half the weight of a Myo XP) and so comfortable to wear that you don't know you've got it on. The beam is certainly strong enough for night walking; I've used it to slog up the Talybont hills and pitch camp. There are 3 light settings so you can choose the lowest for reading in the tent plus a flashing mode for emergencies. The battery compartment is very compact and it can be a bit fiddly to change the 3 AAAs but you get so many hours of light that you won't have to do this very often. It's now my first choice for Summer backpacking.
