We believe that the Laser is the lightest 2 person two-skin tent currently available. With a minimum weight of only 1.15khg the Laser will be hard to beat for Ultra lightweight backpacking. It doesn't compromise on comfort either, as it is easy to pitch with a spacious inner tent and porch. It pitches outer first.

Technical Details:---

  • Flysheet: Watershed SL fabric, silicon coated both sides and made from high tenacity nylon 6.6

  • Weathershield System: Waterproof protective hood over the centre seam for improved water resistance. (Removable for those who wish to save precious grammes)

  • Groundsheet: Waterbloc SL, Lightweight polyurethane coated nylon 6.6

  • Poles: DAC Featherweight poles, 7001 aluminium alloy. Almost as strong as Terra Nova Reflex poles, yet giving a significant weight advantage.

  • Pegs: Superlight carbon fibre pegs weighing just 4.5 grammes each.

  'BARE MINIMUM FOR MAXIMUM'
Strengths: Very good design. Maximises space and functionality for the amount of materials used - keeping weight to a minimum. Two people can sit up/cook, and there's just enough space for two sleeping bags had-to-foot.
Weaknesses: rattles noisily even in low winds. feels quite delicate.
Overall: Used overnight for mountain marathon. Bit tight for two, but manageable. We stored gear around flysheet and there was enough space for cooking, sitting up. If you want to save grams (e.g. if you're running), this tent represents an excellent compromise.
