1000 Mile Walking Sock
Options:
The 1000 Mile Classic Walking Sock is a sock within a sock. The inner layer stays with the foot, the outer layer moves with the shoe. The lack of friction between the layers helps to prevent blisters and reduce wear.

These excellent socks are suitable for rambling through to serious expedition 3 season walking. They dry very quickly for easy washing in the field. Slightly longer than the normal walking sock, and much thinner than normal cushion loop or Thorlo type socks.

Fabric content: 60% Acrylic, 40% nylon.

Strengths: Tough, dry fairly quickly, certainly prevent blisters.
Weaknesses: £12 a pair cheap? Hardly! No overlap between sizes, so if you find yourself in the middle then your choice is way too big or rather too tight.
Overall: An old concept updated, these socks do prevent blisters as long as you take the time to smooth out the wrinkles when you put them on. Being a double layer they are less versatile than two separate socks, however. The synthetic version is not as comfy on the feet, nor as warm, as woollen socks, and traditionally-minded ramblers will bemoan the fact that they no longer seem to make them in red.
