The Nepal SA Plus ice axe is a great general purpose axe suitable for UK winter walking, easier climbing in gullies, snow slopes, and general Alpinism.

The Carbon steel shaft has a rubber grip, and is slightly curved to give greater purchase when using the pick, and it has a hot forged blade with a classical negative angle on the pick.

The Nepal SA plus comes complete with an adjustable leash and spike protector.

  'WELL BALANCED, POSITIVE GRIP GOOD FOR EVERYTHING'
Strengths: Well balanced ice axe with good grip on handle and positive spike for plunging.
Weaknesses: None
Overall: Good value and great product. I tried this one and a grivel Munro with no grip, in soft snow the grip helps the spike not to sink in all the way to the handle and still gives good grip.
