Sporty, lightweight and waterproof - a practical shoe for flexible use in the outdoors and for everyday life. The Emotion XCR is an attractive design combined with tried-and-tested Meindl technology, stability and optimum abrasion protection are among the many characteristics of this shoe.
  • Upper: Suede leather with a mesh insert.
  • Lining: Gore-tex XCR for greater breathability.
  • Sole: Meindl Magic Future with Kevlar inlay. Non-slip rubber profile, nylon heel stabiliser, EVA shock absorber and soft tread-area wedge.

  'TOUGH AND COMFORTABLE'
Strengths: good fit, sturdy, lightweight construction, decent grip, all-day comfort
Weaknesses: expensive. Not convinced about the practicality of XCR lining
Overall: I use these shoes for most of my walking these days, using my boots only for very rocky or very muddy terrain. Despite the gore-tex lining, water can get in fairly easily through the mesh upper. The best thing I can say about these shoes is that you forget you're wearing them, even after a very long day in the hills. When you don't particularly notice a piece of equipment, you know it's doing it's job well.
